Wedding Photography Packages In The Lake District

There are so many wedding photographers in the lake district to choose from. After going through all of their instagram accounts and photo websites. You find a few you like and want to know how much it’s going to cost you. For them to comets your wedding with their cameras and take the most amazing photos of you big day. The truth is, there are so many different professionals charging different amounts. This will come down to how much experience they have in the industry or the quality and consistency of their photography skills. Then they might have different packages to offer too. I personally only offer one package with the option to add more bespoke options onto such as a wedding album or an additional photographer. A kind of “build your own package kind of thing”

Cumbria and the lakes will always have a huge space in my heart. One of the main reasons I’m super happy to be a Lake District Wedding Photographer in 2023 is that I’ve been visiting them since I was just a little boy as I have family that lives in Cartmel. I actually live perfectly in between two of the countries greatest national parks. Snowdonia just an hour south of me and The Lake District and hour north. My wife and I love to visit the beautiful waters and the breathtaking fells, when we either take our dog walking or we take boat trips on the lakes with the kids. I also like to visit the various hills and fells to walk with my friends and sometimes take part in some wild camping. In my opinion, you just can’t beat the wilderness and freedom of the great outdoors. This location is one of the most beautiful places in the world you could choose to get married.

When it comes down to Lake District Wedding Venues you’ll be spoiled for choice. Not only with the number of locations for your marriage but the style and type of wedding you’re after. From breathtaking fell set castles such as Muncaster Castle to small luxury hotels such as Just The Two Of Us at the Lakeside Hotel on Lake Windermere. Armathwaite Hall near the shores of Lake Bassenthwaite provides a real feel of luxury for wedding guests. The Coppermine Lakes Cottages provides for a perfect mountainous wedding venue. It has breathtaking views of the Coniston Fells above and draw-dropping sights of Coniston Water below. There is a beautiful spot near Lodore Falls Called Surprise View. Lake District National Park

It’s hard not to sound biased being a wedding photographer, though weddings really are beautiful. I’d take huge pride in being able to witness so many magical days for all my brides and grooms. Not even mentioning that I get a front-row seat to it all. With weddings being so beautiful, why not choose to have your wedding in one of the most beautiful locations on the planet you don’t really need many reasons to get married here. A Cumbrian national park wedding would set the bar extremely high for beautiful wedding locations around the world. The Lake District National park attracts over 15 million people every year, and for good reason. Imagine saying your vows to each other during your wedding ceremony whilst overlooking Lake Windermere. Or if you’re the bride, imagine walking towards your husband to be whilst being surrounded by The Langdale Pikes.

Honeymooning in the Lake District

As we approach the summer of 2020 more and more weddings will be taking place here. If you have already decided on having your wedding here in Cumbria then you may want to consider having your honeymoon in the Lake District. First of all, you’ll already be there though the article I’ve written with many other reasons to have your honeymoon in the lakes should help out for sure. You can read that by clicking this link here. Even if you don’t want your main honeymoon here. It’s the perfect mini-moon location.

One of the great things about having your wedding in the Lake District. Is that although your wedding will be the main event for all of your wedding guests. There is plenty to do for your guests before and after your wedding. Here are some examples of things to do in the Lake District;

Get On The Water

There are boat trips available on plenty of the Lake Districts waters, take a canoe across the calmness of Derwent water. Or for those more adventurous, take part in some raft building for added adventure and fun!

Walking Routes & Climbing

One of the activities the Lake District is most famous for is climbing and walking. Walking more so with popular hikes such as doing a circuit of Buttermere or Lake Windermere’s western shore. Go in search of waterfalls like Aira Force. Other popular locations to walk to are Friar’s Crag in  Keswick. Also, Derwent water has stunning walks.

Climbing and abseiling are also extremely popular. The list is endless here and I’d recommend using a company for help and guidance. Scarfell Pike is amongst the favorites. So get yourself out and about!

Your wedding in the Lake District can be much more than just saying “I do”. Make an adventure out of it for yourself and all your guests!

Not Just Wedding Photography

When you are in the Lake District, it’s very rare that you will see someone without a camera. For reasons we have already discussed, but mainly its breathtaking scenery. One thing I’ve not mentioned though is the wildlife in the lakes. Another strong reason attracting visitors from all over the world. You can check out the Heart of The Lakes where they give you a list of all the wildlife available to take pictures of whilst you’re in the area. One of the most loved species, the humble red squirrel can be seen all year round amongst the woodlands. Take your pick the list of spectacular birds of prey that nest here; You’ll come across Buzzards and Kestrels on hill walks though you’ll need some patience and pin-sharp hearing! In the summer and in and around Bassenthwaite Lake you’ll find Osprey as there are breeding cottages nearby. The largest Bird of Prey in the UK is the white-tailed eagle, sadly you won’t find any here but you will find the UK’s second-biggest, the golden eagle.  Red Deer, Otters, and Grey Seals are amongst some other wildlife to get your camera out for. As well as butterflies and flora and Forna. Being a Lake District Wedding Photographer is great not only because I get to shoot so many beautiful weddings here, but also I’ve got to know the place and as someone who’s pretty good with a camera, I get to get some great photos personally too.
