Long House Studios is a small, friendly, independent art school run by artist and teacher, Louise Sturgis. It offers a range of immersive art courses for adults and young people, all centred on drawing as the starting point for new work and ideas. Teaching is a mixture of sensitive 1:1 tuition and guidance as well as group discussions. The aim of each course is not to produce a particular kind of work, but rather to help participants to develop their own skills, and ideas so that they can return home with renewed confidence and inspiration.
Situated in the idyllic valley of Kentmere, a course at Long House Studios also offers a peaceful and mindful retreat from the humdrum of everyday life.
